ALEXANDRA BISCHOFF
eggshells, eggshells
18 August 7pm - 19 August 8am
BOOK LAUNCH: 7PM
PERFORMANCES: 8PM - 8AM
Unit 17 is thrilled to present eggshells, eggshells and Peep Show Pop-Up - a book launch and series of performances by Vancouver artist, writer and researcher Alexandra Bischoff, beginning at 7pm on Saturday, 18 August and running until 8am Sunday, 19 August.
These special events were the initial catalyst for the group exhibition SOOT (presented between 16 December 2017 - 21 January 2018) and emerged from conversations with the artist around her publication of the same name. It recounts the artist’s night shifts at Fantasy Factory, Canada’s longest running sex shop. Graveyard shifts lasted from 8pm - 8am, mirroring the duration of this one night event. The gallery will remain open overnight, with performances occurring throughout.
